In Indonesia, consumer data protection is regulated by several government bodies, including:

  1. Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo): Kominfo is the main government body responsible for regulating telecommunications, broadcasting, and internet services in Indonesia. It oversees the implementation of data protection laws and regulations related to consumer data.

  2. National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN): BSSN is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the security of Indonesia's cyber space, including data protection.

  3. Financial Services Authority (OJK): OJK is responsible for regulating and supervising financial services in Indonesia, including banks, insurance companies, and capital market participants. It enforces regulations related to the protection of consumer financial data.

  4. Personal Data Protection Commission (KDLP): KDLP is a newly established government body responsible for overseeing the implementation of Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) which came into effect on 30 September 2020.

These regulatory bodies work together to ensure that consumer data is protected and that organizations comply with relevant data protection laws and regulations.
